How To Manage Etherparty On Ledger With MEW

Etherparty (FUEL) is an Ethereum-run contract wizard that removes the complexity of creating, managing and executing smart contracts on any blockchain.

While FUEL is an ERC20 token, it can be freely stored and managed directly from cold storage using the Ledger Live app, that is as long as the coins are stored on a Ledger device. In addition to the Ledger Live platform, the stored FUEL on a Ledger can also be managed through the use of third-party wallets such as the MyCrypto wallet or the MyEtherWallet.

However, our focus today will be on the MyEtherWallet, and specifically how to manage FUEL tokens stored on a Ledger device via this wallet.

Before you begin: You will need to have an initialized Ledger hardware wallet, plus the Ethereum app already installed on your Ledger device. You also need to have the Ledger Live application downloaded and installed on your device.

Make sure you are using the latest version of Ledger Live.

How to get Ledger and MyEtherWallet connected

Step #1. Visit the MyEtherWallet from the main page here, and scroll until you see the ‘Access Now’ button as per the image below.

Step #2. Next, press the ‘Hardware’ wallet as shown below.

Step #3. This brings up a new window where you need to select ‘Ledger’ and then ‘Continue’ as depicted below.

Step #4. Choose the Ethereum app, and then one of the default addresses, and then click ‘Next’.

Step #5. Keep the network as it is, select an address, then accept the terms and conditions, and finally press on the ‘Access My Wallet’ button.

Now, all that is needed is to add the ERC20 token of interest by following the next instructions.

#1. Access your wallet as per Steps 1–5, outlined above.

#2. In the default token search bar, search ‘FUEL’, load the token and that’s yet.

That’s yet! You are now able to manage your FUEL tokens just as easily as if it was with the Ledger Live app.

Conclusion

Like many cryptocurrencies, FUEL is a fast emerging cryptocurrency that is not yet fully supported on Ledger. However, the power of the MyEtherWallet provides a means to manage FUEL stored securely on a hardware device by connecting directly to a Ledger device. This way, FUEL owners can both secure their assets as well as manage them properly. Enjoy!
